Renea
Menzies

Shows Runs February 11 –
March 9
Renea
was born in Houston, TX where she was raised with her three brothers.
She traveled abroad only to return to Houston where her heart belongs and resides
with her two children, her son Christian whose charm, creativity and sweet
nature are a source of inspiration daily and her daughter, Morgan who
reminds her so much of herself as a child.
Her
journey began over a decade ago. As a professional international model, she
traveled the globe to some of the most exotic locations in the world.
During this time, her sense of style was heavily influenced by Spanish,
Mexican, and European cultures. Having returned to the States, Renea was a
self-taught artist who achieved early success in her new career. Later
Renea studied under JD Miller of Dallas, Texas.
The
bold influence that is revealed in Renea’s artwork was inspired by many
facets of her individualism. Part of this is the result of her male
siblings and her extensive travels abroad. The expression that is
captivated in her dramatic pieces of beauty placed on canvas is nothing
less than breathe taking. The treasured memories of growing up with her
three brothers are much different than one would expect. Playing tackle
football, camping, crabbing and fishing off pier 61 on Galveston Island are
not directly reflected in her art work, but a little piece of her soul is
released into each piece. These experiences along with her travels helped
mold Renea into the artist that she is today.
In
her art the paintings display the intricate marriage of vibrant colors that
inspire the movement of the imagination in a textured oasis. Her artistic
abilities as part painter, part sculptor are truly amazing and evident in the
complexity of each swirl she creates.

A creative sole inspired by a desire
to evoke ones emotions at the deepest level
with vibrant swirls that exude off the canvas.
